Award by HC360.com underscores Tyco’s leadership position in China

[China/Shanghai], 30 OCTOBER 2009 – Tyco Fire and Security reinforced its position as a leader in delivering cutting-edge customized fire safety solutions with the acceptance of an award for the “Top Fire Detection Innovation Brand” by China’s leading fire services information provider HC360.com.

This latest award is presented in recognition of Tyco Fire and Security’s leadership in the fast-growing China market and its successful introduction of FLAMEVision FV300 Flame Detector. This breakthrough product incorporates 256 infrared sensors and integrated CCTV to identify flame incidents automatically and reliably, and to accurately pinpoint fire sources on a video image. With intelligent software, it can discriminate between flame and non-flame sources. This critical information allows its operators to visually verify the alarm and implement appropriate action immediately. This is the second year running that Tyco Fire and Security has won an award at China’s largest fire industry event. In 2008, it was presented with the “Top Foreign Brand for Fire Industry”.

Jan Johansson, Director of Strategic Product Management, Asia Pacific, and Regional General Manager for China and Taiwan, Tyco Fire Protection Services, said: “Tyco Fire and Security aims to be the global leader in fire protection and we view this award by the industry as important recognition for our work in China for the past 10 years. We will continue to invest in research and development efforts and actively participate in the growth of the fire industry in China.”
